TURRICAN - RESURRECTION

A development of the classic Turrican games for the Atari STE, TT and Falcon by Unseen Menace.

Turrican - Resurrection will be 3 games in one; the original Turrican, Turrican 2 and a new 3rd chapter.   I know there is a Turrican 3 on the Amiga but its a port of Mega Turrican on the Sega Mega Drive and to my mind does not really fit the style of the originals.   Therefore I have decided to use only the soundtrack from Turrican 3, which is of course by Chris Huelsbeck, and the original Turrican sprite and weaponry along with new levels and enemies.

The idea of this project is to do justice to the Turrican games on the Atari platform and also to show what the STE is really capable of.   I hope to match the quality of the Amiga versions of the games in most respects and even do better in some areas.

Proposed specification is as follows:-

320 x 192 playfield
Status panel in bottom border on STE (320 x 240 mode on Falcon)
8 pixel high status bar on TT with Lives and Score overlaid at top (a l'Amiga)
Up to 224 colours on screen
8 way hardware scrolling
50 frames per second (60 on TT & Falcon)
4096 colour palette (262144 on Falcon)
Blitter chip used for larger sprites on STE and Falcon
Reworked 16 colour sprite and scenery graphics
Sampled sound effects from Amiga versions (using STE DMA)
5 channel in-game music with SID sounds and DMA digi drums
6 channel 25KHz digital stereo title, end and highscore musics
